Narodził się Jezus w stajni, p/e

XVIII w. (Siedl)

Narodził się Jezus w stajni ubogi.
Uniżył majestat, chociaż Pan srogi.
Będąc Synem Najwyższego,
Nie miał miejsca godniejszego
Swojej Osobie, swojej Osobie.

W stajni z bydlętami gospodą, staje,
Ubogim pastuszkom w pole znać daje;
Wszyscy się ze snu porwali,
Skoro światłość oglądali
Ponad Betlejem, ponad Betlejem.

A gdy usłyszeli anielskie pienie,
Że się narodziło ludzkie zbawienie,
Krzyknął jeden na drugiego:
Pójdźmy oglądać nowego
Gościa na ziemi, Gościa na ziemi.

A gdy pastuszkowie pokłon oddali,
Wcielonemu Bogu powinszowali,
Potem kładli swoje dary:
Przyjmij od nas te ofiary,
Jezu nasz drogi, Jezu nasz drogi!

0274-2. In a Lowly Manger

In a lowly manger Christ is born tonight;
Majesty divine lies hidden with its might.
He the Son of God forever
Found no place so worthy ever.
Holy Redeemer, Holy Redeemer.

Where the beasts were resting there He chose to stay
Angels summoned shepherds as in fields they lay
Soon they all beheld a wonder
As they gazed at skies far yonder
There over Bethlehem, over Bethlehem.

Voices of the angels sweetly rang on high
Telling man's salvation is already nigh.
Quickly said one to another
"Come along, o shepherd brother
To greet the Savior, greet the Savior."

Joyously the shepherds to the stable went
There in adoration every knee was bent:
"Gifts we offer Thee, tho' meager
Please accept our love so eager
Our dearest Jesus, dearest Jesus!"

0274-3. Unto lowly shepherds

Unto lowly shepherds watching o'er their fold,
Came the glad¬some tidings prophets had foretold.
Anew star, its luster bringing,
Angel hosts in chorus singing
Over Bethl'em, over Bethlehem.

Startled from their slumber, they arose that night.
One cried to another: "Let us see this sight!"
Let us greet this brand new wonder,
Living bread to stave our hunger,
Now in Bethl'em, now in Bethlehem.

So they found the Christ child nestled in a stall,
And they gave Him homage as the Lord of all.
Fitting lodging none were able
To provide Him, just a stable
There at Bethl'em, there at Bethlehem.

Jesus, our Salvation, take the gifts we bring,
As we claim in wonder, You alone as King.
In relinquishing your splendor,
You desired to share our nature,
Born in Bethl'em, born in Bethlehem.
